VISUAL STYLE: Silhouette animation in the tradition of Lotte Reiniger. Every element a cut paper silhouette — pure black form against a luminous background. No colour, no facial detail, no texture. Only shape, movement, and the light that comes from behind.

COLOUR PALETTE: Pure black (#000000) for all silhouetted figures and foreground elements. The background colour shifts with the narrative temperature: warm amber (#FF8C00) for golden hour and magic, pale blue (#B8D4F0) for moonlight and cold, deep cobalt (#003380) for night, pale cream (#FFFAED) for dawn. The background is the emotional register. The foreground is always black.

FIGURE DETAIL: Despite being pure silhouette, extraordinary detail is present — the lace of a costume edge, the curl of a decorative hair ornament, the articulation of a mechanical figure's joints. The silhouette contains the portrait. Detail is defined by the cut edge, not by internal line.

MOVEMENT: Figures move with the slightly stylised quality of jointed paper — fluid within individual limbs, slightly distinct at joints. Dance movement particularly suited to this style — the full form of a dancer in motion.

LIGHT SOURCE: Implied to be behind the scene, rendering everything in front as silhouette. Occasionally a portal of light appears — a window, a doorway — through which a figure moves from shadow into illumination.
